Have you ever thought about running for the MSBO Board of Directors? The governance page on the MSBO website provides more detailed information about serving on the Board, including a detailed FAQ, which outlines the election process, and roles and responsibilities of MSBO board members.
There are two (2) seats open on the MSBO Board of Directors in 2022. One open seat is the seat held by Bill Chatfield who will leave the board after finishing his year as Immediate Past President. The second seat is currently held by Julie Williams-Muz who will be seeking re-election. Board member Mary Beth Rogers will run as the candidate for President-Elect.
Chatfield, MSBO’s Immediate Past President, serves as the Chair of the MSBO Nominations Committee. Per the MSBO Bylaws, the committee also includes the MSBO President, President Elect, and the first two other most recent past MSBO presidents that are active members and willing to serve on the committee.
If you’re interested in being a candidate, or would like to nominate someone for the committee to consider, call Bill Chatfield (248) 956-3060, or email williamchatfield@wlcsd.org. Names may be presented to the Nominations Committee for consideration and possible nomination by submitting a petition with at least 30 Active member signatures to the committee chair on or before December 1, 2021. An Application for Consideration (new this year) can be used in lieu of gathering petitions to show your interest. The petition and application are in the 2022 Elections Booklet and Candidate Guidelines.
If you would like more information about running for the board, please read the detailed MSBO Elections Booklet and FAQ’s on the MSBO website or contact Immediate Past President Bill Chatfield, MSBO Executive Director David Martell or Nancy Hawkins at 517-327-5920.
The MSBO Board has set the 2022 board election dates to begin at noon on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 and end on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 3:00 pm.
