Investing in MSBO Members Scholarships

Purpose and Intent: To provide opportunities for professional development to individuals currently employed in school business to improve their skills and competencies in school business management.

A total of four scholarships are available – one scholarship randomly selected from each of the following certification track categories:

Business Office (1 Scholarship)
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Business Office Manager (BOM)
Business Office Specialist (BOS)
School Payroll Specialist (SPS)

Pupil Accounting (1 Scholarship)
Pupil Accounting Specialist (PAS)
Pupil Accounting Auditor (PAA)
Specialist in Educational Data (SED)

Support Services (1 Scholarship)
Certified Facilities Director (CFD)
Certified Operations Director (COD)
Certified Transportation Director (CTD)
Child Nutrition Director (CND)

Other (1 Scholarship)
Certified Purchasing Officer (CPO)
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Human Resource Specialist (HRS)


MSBO Wally Piper and Mark and Kay Stebbins Scholarships

These scholarships encourage individuals currently employed in school business who are improving their technical skills and competencies by furthering their education or pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.

Wally Piper Scholarship
The Michigan School Business Officials offers a $3,000 Piper Scholarship to active members of the Association in honor of Wally Piper. This scholarship program encourages and recognizes individuals currently employed in school business who are improving their technical skills and competencies by pursuing a graduate degree.

Mark and Kay Stebbins Scholarship
The Michigan School Business Officials offers a $2,000 Stebbins Scholarship to active members of the Association in honor of Mark and Kay Stebbins. This scholarship program encourages and recognizes individuals currently employed in school business who are improving their technical skills and competencies by furthering education.
