The state’s Consensus Revenue Estimating Conference (CREC) meeting was held January 14. All the documents from the CREC, including those received at the post-CREC committee meeting are on the MSBO webpage dedicated to the revenue consensus.
A recorded session of the joint MSBO ISD and School Finance Committees is available on the ISD Committee and School Finance Committee webpages under the 1/14/22 meeting. It includes a recap of the CREC and analysis from representatives of both the House and Senate Fiscal Agencies. The CREC was also broadcasted on the House TV and Senate TV online stations.
This is the start of the state’s budget process for FY2022-23. Governor Gretchen Whitmer will release her budget next month. It is the first indication of the Governor’s priorities. The Legislature will develop their budgets with both chambers going through the process. Resources will continue to be updated on MSBO’s School Finance webpages.
