My overall impression of the MSBO Business Manager Academy is that it has been truly invaluable. The knowledge I gained throughout this year-long course will significantly enhance the skills I already have in school finance and help me continue to grow in my career. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it. I highly recommend this academy to anyone working in school business and finance. It’s a comprehensive and impactful program that provides both practical tools and broader strategic understanding.

The resources shared with us in the class, such as spreadsheet templates, updates, and a networking cohort group, have significantly helped me grow this past year.
How would you rate the facilitator, Doug Newcombe?
Effective
Doug Newcombe, was absolutely top tier - truly the Captain Picard of school finance. His extensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of school operations and finance were evident in every session. Like a true Starfleet captain, Doug guided us through complex topics clearly, and his willingness to share practical insights made the learning experience engaging and relevant, helping us boldly go where we hadn't gone before in our understanding of school business. He is a wonderful instructor, mentor, and human. There is very little formal training available for the unique work we do in this field, and this academy, along with Doug's expertise, has provided me with a much clearer understanding of the broader picture. I learned many new concepts that I had no prior exposure to, and I also found reassurance in knowing that the practices I’ve been using remain consistent and correct.
