New Lead Workshops Added

futureEarlier this year, the EPA enacted the Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule. This law requires contractors and in-house staff who disturb lead-based paint within child occupied facilities to be trained in the 8-hour Certified Lead Renovator Program. In school districts, this would include kindergarten classrooms, head start programs, day care centers, and associated common areas, such as restrooms, the cafeteria and applicable exterior areas of the building.

MSBO has been providing the Certified Lead Renovator Training Program over the past several months up to the law’s original effective date of April 22, 2010. The EPA has recently extended the training date requirement and individuals now have until September 30, 2010 to enroll in a Certified Lead Renovator Training Program. Training must be completed by December 31, 2010. Enforcement of these training provisions will begin in 2011.

Register now for one of these upcoming training dates:
September 21, 2010
October 25, 2010
November 22, 2010
December 13, 2010

All Certified Lead Renovator Training Programs will be held at the MSBO office in Lansing, MI.
