MSBO Board Member Resigns - Interested in Serving?

MSBO Board member Mitch Bart recently retired from his role as Director of Facilities/Purchasing at Kent ISD. The MSBO bylaws require board members be “active” members and so his resignation from his school district also requires that he resign from his role as board member of MSBO. The Board recently accepted his resignation at the July 2010 MSBO Board of Directors meeting.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mitch for his years of service to MSBO and wish him luck in his new endeavors as Vice President of Operations at CSM Services.

According to the MSBO bylaws, the board can either wait until the next regular election or appoint a board member to serve until the next election. The board has decided to accept candidate profiles from those active members wishing to be considered to fill the vacant position on the MSBO Board of Directors. The individual chosen to fill the seat will serve on the board until the next MSBO Board election, which is April 2011.

We know that during these tough economic times members are busier now more than ever.  Yet it’s times like these that demand strong leadership from members who are willing to help MSBO fulfill its mission. If you are interested in being considered for possible appointment, please complete the candidate profile (click here to download the profile) and submit it to MSBO Executive Director David Martell at dmartell@msbo.org no later than 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 3. The board will review candidate information and could appoint a new board member as soon as its September board meeting.

If you have any questions about board member roles, responsibilities, and time commitments, please do not hesitate to contact David Martell (517-327-2580) or me.
