Business Official of the Year Award

Application Deadline
Submit the Application Form and to MSBO by January 31.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, you must:

  • Be an MSBO member
  • Be a school business official for a minimum of 5 years
  • Employed by a K-12 school district or ISD and fulfill one of the following positions:
  • Business Manager
  • Business Administrator
  • Accounting Director
  • Finance Director
  • Superintendent
  • Assistant Superintendent, Finance/Administration
  • Transportation Director
  • Food Service Director
  • Facilities Director
  • Information Systems Director
  • Human Resources Director

Current MSBO board members are not eligible.

Selection Process and Award
Complete information is presented in the MSBO Awards Program Booklet.

A review committee comprised of two MSBO Board of Directors, one ISD representative, and two business officials review the application and attachments, and make a recommendation to the MSBO Board. The MSBO Board determines the winner. Presentation of the award (a crystal plaque and $1,500 toward a professional development trip to ASBO International Annual Conference) is at the MSBO Annual Conference.

The MSBO winner is submitted to ASBO for consideration in its Business Official of the Year Award program.
