Today the color of energy is green; but so is the color of money. For all the attention given to “greening” our world, we can never disregard the financial side. MSBO helps school districts create successful energy programs, saving money at a time when every dollar helps.

FY2009: 8 districts save over $276,000 = 2,035 Metric Tons of CO2 reduced or the equivalent of removing 373 cars from Michigan’s roads.

FY2008: 7 districts save over $159,000 = 1,268 Metric Tons of CO2 reduced or equivalent to removing 232 cars from Michigan’s roads.

FY2007: 4 districts save over $146,000 = 1,151 Metric Tons of CO2 reduced or equivalent to removing 211 cars from Michigan’s Roads.

Overview of the Program

Energy Essentials offers school districts assistance in beginning the journey toward effective energy management. This program helps your district get started with an energy plan.

The Energy Essentials design assists districts in developing a program that creates energy awareness and strategies that result in saving precious dollars for the district. This is a comprehensive, systemic approach to energy savings.

Energy Essentials brings together every area of your school district (administrators, school board members, students, and teachers) to develop and implement a plan. MSBO provides the support needed to make your energy management program successful.

Energy Essentials offers customized consulting services for a very reasonable cost to districts interested in assistance in the initial phases of implementation.
